Manuel S. Emanuel, AICP, has a professional consultant career extending over several decades. Starting in the early 1950's, after a period of military service, he worked with two other consulting firms. Emanuel formed his own consulting firm in 1964 in Nyack-on-Huson, NY. For a period of about thirty years, the firm, Manuel S. Emanuel Associates, Inc., served a diversified range of municipal and private clients, principally in the Northeast. In the mid 1990's. he closed his firm and moved to South Carolina, where he has continued part-time consulting work and pursued additional endeavors in the educational field. He is currently located in Hilton Head Island, SC.

In his consultant capacity, Emanuel is dedicated to the individual client and all consulting work is performed by him, with support services. Over the years, Emanuel has worked extensively with various community planning boards and their staff in establishing the scope of work to be performed. In addition, he worked closely with community groups and individuals in developing goals and objectives for each project and in creating effective end products that can be successfully implemented.
